History is the most boring subject ever! How can anyone, who’s not completely out of his mind force us, poor students, to relive all of those stupid wars that happened 300 years ago and will most likely never happen again? What’s in it for us? There are so many more important things they could teach us, but no, here I am, walking into Professor Bins’ class. At least it’s just one lesson. And I still have to finish the-no Lily, don’t you dare read that stupid letter!
I take my usual place in the front row. Actually I’d really prefer a seat in the back, but I’m Lily Evans. I’m the best. I have to sit in the front row and prove that to everyone, even in such a boring class!
While taking out my book I unconsciously also take out the letter and open it. Just a few lines…
Switching off Professor Bins’ boring jabbering, I scan through Sirius’ scribble.
Shortly after his signature I can see that the handwriting changed. This one is much neater than the one before. I immediately recognize it as Remus’. Of course!
“Hi Lily,
This is Remus.
I’m just doing this because Sirius is forcing me and because seeing James this way is not nice at all!” Oh please! This is complete nonsense.
“I don’t know what I should be telling you, because I really don’t want to force you to do something you don’t want to.” Thank you Remus, finally someone is being reasonable!
“So I’m just gonna tell you some facts! I won’t take your side and neither James’s, since you’re both my friends.” Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I turn back, look straight into Remus’ eyes and smile. He looks a little confused but I don’t really care.
“To James’ defense he really likes you! He’s not just faking it, or he would have given up many years ago.” Are you kidding me? You said you wouldn’t take sides! I feel like I’m about to stand up and pull off Remus’ head. Instead I try to calm down and go on reading.
“To yours he may have been a really bad guy, and all the things you think about him may have been true, but they’re not like this anymore!” Yeah right.
“You should be really happy he changed, because he just did this for you! Now he’s a good guy, with a broken heart and you’re the only one who can make him feel better! You don’t even have to tell him how much you love him!” Where the hell is he suddenly taking all this nonsense from? How can he not see that James is a complete idiot? I really don’t see how he’s changed. He’s exactly like he was last month which is no different than how he was two years ago!
“A simple ‘I’m sorry-Letter’ is enough for now! I’m not even asking you to go out with him (well, not yet)” Whaat?
“, but at least you could try to get to know the real James and see how much he differs from the picture of him you had until now.” I know exactly how the real James is like and he’s a jerk!
“I hope I helped you with this letter!” Duh, not really!
I snot, while I stuff the stupid letter back into my bag. Why can’t they just let me be!
The rest of history is a real torture. I can’t even concentrate on the Troll Wars Professor Bins is talking about, so I just open the book and start drawing stupid scribbles on the front page.
